Pricing, Shipping, Tax and Refund Policies

01 | Pricing & Shipping

If you buy any two paintings together, delivered to the same address, we will be pleased to give you a $50 discount off the total order price. We are able to do this because of shipping cost savings when two paintings are packed together.

Our prices include shipping by USPS Priority Mail to your door and include packing and insurance. This applies to most destinations in the world. However if you live in a location considered by USPS to be remote or difficult to deliver to, they will add an additional charge. If an additional shipping charge is shown at the checkout (as "Shipping Surcharge") it means that your delivery address is in one of these locations.

Shipping by USPS Priority Mail is safe and very efficient. Your painting will be dispatched within one working day of receipt of your payment and we'll send you a tracking number which can be used to monitor progress (online at www.usps.com) of your order shipment to your door. Shipping time is typically 2-4 days within the US and 7 days to almost anywhere else in the world.

02 | Tax

Please note that the price published on this website, or quoted to you by email, includes packing and shipping by USPS Priority Mail from Los Angeles, CA to your door, but it does not include local taxes that may (or may not) be applied to imports in your state/country.

As Benjamin Franklin once said: "In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes". When you buy products in your local store the price that you pay most probably includes tax. When you import products from another country the import price does not include any tax, so your government sees fit to charge a tax on the import.

It is usual for some form of tax (sometimes called VAT or sales tax or import duty) to be charged by Customs or the Revenue in your country before the imported goods can be released to you. This tax amount is small and occasionally no taxes are imposed on items with a low value. The rules differ from country to country, tend to be interpreted differently by different Customs officers and are also subject to change without notice. For all of these reasons, unfortunately we cannot let you know the likely amount in advance.

An invoice will accompany the package. If any such taxes are due, USPS will arrange payment and will ask you for the money due when they deliver.

If the possible tax on your order is a concern, we suggest that you call your local post office for an estimate in advance. They will ask you for details of the goods including a description and the total value. You will tell them: "xx original painting(s) on paper, total value $xxx" according to the number of paintings and the total amount that you paid.

03 | Refund Policy

Refunds will be offered only on TEAG Paintings sold from our Gallery pages.

Note that we cannot give refunds on TECC paintings sold from the Budget Page.

Claim within seven days of receipt please

To begin a claim you must notify us by email within seven days of receipt of the goods. No claim will be accepted after seven days from the date that the package has been delivered to you.

Faulty or Damaged Paintings

It is important to note what will and will not be accepted as a defect for the purposes of a claim. Please note the following conditions.

The following defects will be accepted in a claim

  1. Non-painted marks, other than minor blemishes, on the front side of the paper (the side on which the artwork appears).

  2. Any form of tearing of the paper other than the natural deckled edges.

The following defects will not be accepted in a claim

  1. All paintings are produced on handmade deckle edged paper. Please note that specifications of handmade paper are not guaranteed and some variation in weight, size and shape is normal.

  2. Marks on the back side of the paper and small creases in the paper often occur during the painting process and handling on site as these artworks are painted by an elephant in the open air, not by a careful human in a studio. Any such marks and creases will not be considered acceptable reasons for a claim.

  3. Paint splashes, dribbles and drips are a common feature of elephant paintings and any such paint marks will not be considered acceptable reasons for a claim. Please note that we do not doctor the images of the paintings shown on this website and so if any such blemishes are present, they can be seen here before your purchase.

The action we will take in the event of a claim

TEAG has never (in over ten years) had a claim for a damaged painting. Every painting is checked and double checked for possible defects before packing and we emphasise that no faulty products are dispatched.

However, if a claim is made we will take the following courses of action, depending on the nature of the problem.

  1. If the defects were apparently not caused during transit (the packaging is sound but the painting is damaged) you may make a claim to us directly. There is no need to return the painting. Please take a digital photograph of the painting and the packaging and attach the images to an email. We will study the images and if it is found that a faulty product was dispatched by us we guarantee to reimburse to you the full price that you paid to us.

  2. If it is likely that the defects have been caused during transit (as evidenced by open or damaged packaging at the time of delivery) please report the problem immediately to your local post office and also inform us at the same time. Please take a photograph of the painting and the packaging before releasing the package to USPS. USPS will arrange to send a representative to inspect the package and if the problem is found to have been caused during transit, USPS will agree to embark on a claim. A refund will eventually be made to us by USPS (as the sender and 'owner' of the package). We will then reimburse to you the full amount of the refund that we receive from USPS, within one working day of receipt.
