Description

"Rip Curl" by our most outstanding artist in 2010, Kaew, shows his unusually versatile brushwork, with a beautiful composition of gently arcing strokes in a striking combination of Cornflower Blue and Silver colours on Fabriano Ingres black 160gsm handmade cotton and cellulose art paper with two delicately deckled edges. Size 50 x 70cm. Note that this first class painting would normally be offered at $469, but is on Sale because it is damaged with a 6cm (2.5") tear at the bottom edge (at 7 o'clock) caused by a gust of wind that lifted the paper during the painting session. A close up of the damaged part is shown here. It has been repaired with tape on the back side of the paper and is mostly covered by paint on the front side, so is barely visible (as shown).
