We are asked this question many times by concerned customers who have seen elephant paintings sold on other websites whose owners are evidently not themselves involved in the production of the elephant paintings.

Simply put, re-sellers are not directly involved in the painting process itself (so they have no input into mixing paints or selecting the materials used for example) and do not work directly with the elephant artists (they do not see how the elephant is handled, whether or not they are manipulated) and so do not have first hand knowledge of how each individual painting has been produced. They buy finished paintings from a camp or middleman and mark up that price to sell to the public. Some may have spent a little time watching elephants paint other paintings occasionally, but this is hardly the re-assurance that a buyer is looking for when seeking quality and authenticity.

Over the course of ten years we have developed an understanding of the elephants and know what they like to paint. This enables us to carefully select materials and choose colours to suit their styles and temperaments. Most importantly it allows us to be right there when every painting is being made, so that we are certain that the elephants have not been manipulated and can guarantee that no fake elephant painting is ever produced by TEAG.

As such we guarantee that every painting we sell is a genuine original that has been painted directly onto the paper by an elephant that has not been aided by a human during the creative process.
